So yesterday started off as a bit of a lazy day… Me and Ali decided we would go to Amoeba Records so we hopped on the BART and met Tom at the AMC after work. We stayed there for a while and then got the bus up to Amoeba.
It was such a cool shop! I had to stop myself from looking at everything because I knew I would just buy it all and I couldn’t afford to. After a good look around I left with a copy of Deja Entendu by Brand New and The Troubled Stateside by Crime in Stereo. Very happy with those buys.
We headed off to Fishermans Wharf today to go to the Ripley’s Believe it or not Museum! We felt like we needed a coffee to get us going for the day so we stopped off at Starbucks, they somehow spelt my name wrong…
After our snacks we headed off to the museum. It was so cool! There were so many interesting things and I think the mirror maze at the end was one of the best, we got lost and confused so many times! I couldn’t take any pictures of that because it was too dark and the flash would have just ruined it. But here are some other pictures from the day! 🙂
So after Ripley’s we went to get some Cold Stone, FINALLY!
It was so good, I got the birthday cake remix, just for Jess and Kinley 🙂 It was beautiful but I felt a bit sick after because the woman made too much and had to put it in a medium cup, oh well, it was still lovely.
We headed back to the BART and I decided I would stop off at the Westfield and get some presents for people, but I forgot it was Sunday and everything was closed when I got there 😦 So I just headed home after that and I got pizza for dinner, lovely!
We’re going to Alcatraz on Tuesday and it’s going to be so good, especially if what people say about it is true, really excited for that.
So today was move in day for Sarah Kate! It’ll be sad to see her go. Me and Ali headed to Berkeley with her to help her move her stuff in. We hopped on the BART and went to Berkeley, it’s such a nice place.
We headed to her dorms when we got there so she could drop her stuff off. They had free lemonade, coffee and fruit in the lobby, it was so good! We put her stuff in the room, her roommate hadn’t arrived yet so she left a note to say she would be back later to say hello.
We headed off to get the bus to IKEA. She gets free travel with her student ID, so jealous but it’s so cool! The bus driver was a crazy lady, she stopped the bus to say there was no air conditioning and that it was damn hot so she didn’t drive off until everyone had opened all of the windows, so funny!
We brought all of the stuff she got back to her dorm. I somehow managed to not buy anything in IKEA which is a first for me! I’m getting better at not spending money on useless things! When we got back her roommate was moving in so we just said hello and left the room for a while so she could get settled in, she had a looot of boxes! We chilled outside for a while and then said our goodbyes. Me and Ali stopped in Subway for a cookie on the way back, then decided that we needed milkshakes from Ben and Jerry’s, they were so good!
We headed back to the BART then and we were absolutely wrecked. Once we got home we pretty much collapsed on the sofa and now we’re all just chilling watching some Malcolm in the Middle. I think the plan for tomorrow is Six Flags, so that’s hopefully gonna be an amazing day out! 😀
So me, Ali and Sarah Kate decided to go to Stow Lake today, in Golden Gate Park. We hopped on the muni and got on our way.
When we got to the park we headed to the lake. We got a snack and once we ate that we rented our pedal boat! We started off with Ali and Sarah Kate pedaling, but then we were a bit rebellious and switched places, standing up in the boat isn’t allowed, oooh! So me and Sarah Kate pedaled and Ali steered us around. It was so much fun! The lake was so lovely and there were birds and turtles everywhere!
After the lake we went back to the muni and went to Mission. We went to the Crepe House and me and Sarah Kate got waffles and Ali got a savoury crepe. It was sooo good! I really miss living near cafés and restaurants and shops in general, so it was nice to go back to where we were living.
We went to AT&T after so Sarah Kate could get a sim card. When that was taken care of we went to the BART at 16th so we could get home, a homeless woman threw a shoe at us…very different place in comparison to 24th! We were wrecked when we got home so we just took it easy for the night and watched some telly. Good day all round 🙂
So today was nice! We have a new house guest too, Sarah Kate! The others know her from school, she’s going to be living in Berkley for the year while she goes to college so she’s staying with us until she moves into her dorm, she’s just lovely!
Me, Ali and Sarah Kate headed off on an adventure this morning, we didn’t have much time but we managed to get a lot done! We went to the Ferry Building first and saw the lovely views of the bay. There were a lot of fancy office workers who for some reason all had their meals split into sections, it looked nice, but we don’t know why they don’t just eat sandwiches, so much easier.
We went to Starbucks for a coffee after and to discuss what we were going to do next. We decided we would go to Chinatown, mainly to see the fortune cookie factory that we saw on a Stephen Fry program that we watched last night. It was so cool! Chinatown is such a mad place, we’re gonna head back there another day with everyone and have a better look around when we have more time. But for today we got our fix. We also got bags of fortune cookies, a mixture of chocolate and vanilla, they’re so good.
This made me sad 😦
After Chinatown we went on a search for some food. We stopped off at a place called Melt and got some soup, it was lovely!
I headed off to Market Street on my own because Ali had work and Sarah Kate had to go to Berkley to do some college stuff. I may have bought a beautiful green hoodie…it was worth it and I stand by my decision to buy it. It’s sooo nice. Good day all round 🙂
I planned on doing something today, but never really got around to it and nobody else was up for something fun so I wasn’t really in the mood to go somewhere alone.
I went to Safeway with Tom around lunch time, I got the best mocha coconut frappucino ever, it was so fancy! We also saw a human woman in an electric wheelchair with a basket on the front which contained a chihuahua wrapped in a blanket, it was hilarious but really weird at the same time.
I just lounged around and watched some Malcolm in the Middle and I also watched Heathers. I made a lovely quesadilla for dinner and I just came back from a walk. It was insanely windy out so I didn’t really go out for long, but there was some nice views. So here they are!
I actually really, really like how these turned out, I think I’ll print some of them out and put them on my wall when I get home as a little series.
